Casual setting with live music. Walk up and order at front and take a seat. Very nice lady selling handmade jewelry on the side patio. Delicious poke tacos and calamari!! I couldnt believe how yummy it all was and for $7 each for happy hour! We got there at 4 and it started to get real busy at 5. The gin and tonic was perfect- we liked the Mai tai but only the top layer. Once we started drinking more of it at the bottom it tasted too sweet and a bit nasty lol. We came here again and ordered the chicken skewers (juicy and delicious) and pacific mahi mahi (oh my god to die for!) Every single food item and drink we had was EXCELLENT (except the Mai tai but thats just our opinion!) The employees noticed we came back the next day and we felt so welcomed and grateful to be there.

EXCELLENT breakfast!! We were both hungry after a long, late arriving flight from Seattle. Eggs =cooked to perfection. The home fries are great. Tried the Portuguese sausage - great flavors. Coffee was strong, service outstanding. Open air atmosphere was great - we will be back another Heavy Kine soon!!!!

You order first at the front. Waitstaff was great. Don't let randoms try to sneak in and ask questions when they didn't wait in line. Self serve water pick up drinks at the bar. A little too much mayo on my burger the first time but the Mac salad is delicious. The plate listed with an 18%gratuity $35. We got seats outside and were busted by a momma chicken and 10 baby chickens! Indoor and outdoor seating was nice.

Solid food, great ambiance, fine service. Definitely a popular spot in Kihei area. We came on a Monday night and there was a surprisingly lengthy line but it moved pretty quickly. It looks very much like a full-service restaurant however you do order at an outdoor counter, seat yourself, and pick up your drinks from the bar. We waited in line for probably 20 minutes and another 10 or so for a table to become available. This wasn't too bad though since they had a great live artist to listen to. As for the food: The biggest hit for us was their "island style ribs with respect"- basically a plate lunch with short ribs. Sooo flavorful and tasty. We also ordered the Crab Cake & Greens salad (eh) and the Straight Up Burger which they were able to split for us on two plates. Overall a good meal with typical Maui prices. Would recommend while in Kihei area.

Another year another review, went during happy hour, their Mai Tai's are one of my favorites, the happy hour menu good except for the ribs, all fat I couldn't eat. The poke tacos and ahi tuna very good. My husband liked his burger but still not the original bulgogi burger from the past.

5 Stars - Delicious Food & Great Live Music! Don't worry about a line. It moves fast. We had an amazing dinner at Nalu's South Shore Grill, and it was easily one of our favorite meals in Maui! The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, with fantastic live music performed by a Hawaiian native artist who sang in both English and Hawaiian--such a special touch. The food was excellent! I highly recommend the mahi mahi with green bean fries--perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and a great balance of textures. Everything we tried was fresh, well-prepared, and delicious. The casual, open-air setting adds to the laid-back island vibe, and the service was friendly and attentive. Whether you're looking for a relaxed yet high-quality meal with great live music, Nalu's is a must-visit in Kihei. We'll definitely be back!

On the last night of our annual "Friends-cation" my friends and I like to have a nice sit-down meal together at a restaurant. Staying in Kihei, Maui there are many great options, but we found Nalu's South Shore Grill a great choice since we could make a reservation for our group of 15. Also great is the casual, open air atmosphere and the many menu options. What made splitting the bill easy was that the restaurant has you order and pay before you sit at a table. We picked up our drinks from the bar and then sat at our table. The food came quickly and we enjoyed our tasty meals. Nalu's is open 7 days a week 8 am - 9 pm and offers a daily Happy Hour from 3 pm - 6 pm.

Food quality: delicious! Loved how the menu had some Asian influenced flavors Service: order and pay before you sit. Served quickly. Serving staff was polite and nice. Atmosphere: fun and casual Notes: nice combination of a bar and restaurant with indoor outdoor seating and open space.

So many great restaurants are hidden away in unassuming strip malls. We want to add one more review for this great Kihei eatery. From the parking lot you can see the line to be seated. Before you give it another thought, it's worth it and the line moves quickly. The ambiance at Nalu's is relaxed and welcoming, with outdoor seating that allows you to soak in the beautiful Maui weather. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure every visit is a memorable one. We were too early for the posted time of the lunch special, but it looked fantastic. We made a comment about how good it sounds, and we will need to try next time. The host said hold on a minute let me check with the kitchen-they can usually accommodate. Sure enough they did, and it was absolutely as great as we expected. This was how the rest of our visit went. Everyone was nice, friendly, efficient, and accommodating. Now to the food. How often do you get to rave about a salad, but here you go. From the menu- Farm fresh egg, locally grown organic kale, cherry tomatoes, spiral beets & carrots, crispy quinoa, garden basil, and raw cashews, tossed in a tarragon vinaigrette. Delicious. Since you have a healthy option, you can cheat a little with their Volcano fries. They are spicy, but in a flavorful way. Not in a make your tongue go numb way. Of course they serve up the classics too. Loco Moco, Poke Bowls and there are number of seafood options. Our special was the fish, and it was fresh and cooked to perfection. Put South Shore Grill on your list of places to try because the food is just as good as the service. Breakfast Salad GS Farm fresh 63° egg, locally grown organic kale, cherry tomatoes, spiral beets & carrots, crispy quinoa, garden basil, and raw cashews, tossed in a tarragon vinaigrette. Ahi Club Fresh island yellow fin tuna seared rare, topped with applewood smoked bacon, butter lettuce, tomato, caramelized Maui onions, over crisp sourdough. and Volcano fries

Recommended by several locals. Excellent food. Great atmosphere. Friendly and prompt service.
